Companies house has always communicated to their audience in a simple and effective way that sets them apart from other conventional looking annual reports.
Brief
To design an annual report that is “quirky” and fun. That particular year, they wanted to present themselves as tech savvy as they introduced an e-filing system and moved to digital.
Solution
The concept was to demonstrate that Companies House was now “all geared up” for the digital age. A digital theme with an automotive twist was used to communicate efficiency and high performance, while the style of illustration (drawn by myself) injected an element of fun and quirkiness.
Results
Using illustrations to deliver their key messages instead of photographs was specifically commended by their Chairman, Andrew Summers, who acknowledged the excellent design and its success in delivering a strong and clear visual message to the public.
